A couple of weeks ago it was becoming increasingly clear to me that Zakynthos was not the place to be. I’d spent 8 weeks sitting in a dive shop doing nothing all day. I was constantly asked to lie to customers, making up stories why we couldn’t dive, when we really could have been. It was not what I’d signed up for.
Luckily, an amazing experience came my way; another divemaster job, this time on the picturesque island of Amorgos, in the Cyclades. After some emails and skype chats with the owner, Dimitris, and the centre’s manager, Nicki, I made my final decision: I was moving!
The last 12 days have been the busiest since I arrived in Greece 2 and a half months ago, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’ve been diving every single day, meeting people from around the world, registering Discover Scuba Diving certifications, and making friends with the locals.
There is so much to write about, but so little time! I’ve put together a small album of my time so far on Amorgos – take a look, and know that there’s more to come soon!
